Los Angeles Foster Children Need Our Help!
Through zero fault of their own, many children enter emergency foster care with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and they often travel from home to home carrying their few personal items in a plastic trash bag. Hope in a Suitcase provides NEW luggage and NEW clothing, shoes, and other essentials to make their transition a little easier and to remind children that their belongings deserve the same level of respect as they do, no matter where they go.
Hope in a Suitcase outfits approximately 3,000 local children each year. At Hope in a Suitcase “Shopping Days,” highest-need Tweens and Teens in foster care can come shop – entirely free of charge – for clothing and basic essentials to fit their body types, tastes, and needs.

HUE You Know is a 16,000+ member production resource group for media professionals of color that was founded by television executive Bree Frank in 2017. Comprised of international members of multiple ethnicities, HUE You Know’s principal focus is to create a safe space for professionals of all levels to post employment opportunities, seek mentorship and community.
The group is composed of Executive Producers, Co-Executive Producers, Lawyers, Accountants, Directors, Producers, CEO’s, VP’s, Artists, and many more. They also have Public Relations, Licensing, Marketing, Film & TV (scripted and unscripted) and radio professionals represented. They are also dedicated to employment, empowerment, and inclusion in all ways and welcome partnership and affiliation with organizations with the same principles.
HueYouKnow bolsters diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging. Its mission is to build community, provide mentorship, and foster employment opportunities for BIPOC media professionals.
BRAVE NEW WORLD (BNW)
Repertory Theatre
Brave New World Repertory Theatre, a Brooklyn-based company, reaches under-served audiences to promote a love of theatre, with re-imagined classics and brave new works that reflect our diverse community. BNW’s free-to-low-cost programs range from intimate readings to large outdoor productions and cast unique and historic Brooklyn venues in a leading role. We seek to tell stories that celebrate life and promote social justice; stories that make us laugh, feel deeply and find common ground.
Their 2022 Brave New Works series includes 3 wonderful new comedies featuring playwrights and directors who identify as Black, Asian, Latinx, Jewish, female, male, and non-binary.
BNW Rep has had a mandate for diversity in their company since 2005, and since 2016, a mandate for 60% POC and women in their board and staff.

Spectrum Designs is a custom apparel and promotional items business with a social mission – to create meaningful and inclusive employment opportunities for people on the Autism Spectrum. As a non-profit, 100% of their profits go directly back to their mission to create meaningful and inclusive employment opportunities for people on the Autism Spectrum.
Spectrum Designs, Spectrum Bakes, and Spectrum Suds — are by design operationally self-sustaining through sales; all fundraising proceeds go to expansion and advancement. They partner with The Nicholas Center to ensure that all staff have the support of educational specialists who can help with behavioral and personal goals, while aiding in the development of real world job skills.
Staff are paid at least minimum wage, creating an environment where both employees and the economy can prosper.
NATIONAL COALITION AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (NCADV)
VOICE OF VICTIMS, HOME FOR ADVOCATE
National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) mission is to lead, mobilize and raise voices to support efforts that demand a change of conditions that lead to domestic violence such as patriarchy, privilege, racism, sexism, and classism. NCADV is dedicated to supporting survivors and holding offenders accountable and supporting advocates.
They seek macro-level change in order to create a society in which domestic violence is never tolerated or minimized, in which victims and survivors are respected, and in which service providers have the resources to serve all victims and survivors.
NCADV envision a national culture in which we are all safe, empowered and free from domestic violence.
